New tournaments in 2021

We organise regular tournaments for our students. At present they are taking place online – at the arena, where we have three clubs – Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced. Here is a list of our next tournaments: 26th of December at 16:30; 30th of December at 17:00 and 3rd of January at 16:30.

On the 27th of December 2020 our students will be playing in a friendly match against students of the the International Chess Academy from New Jersey. It will start at 17:00 Dublin time. The format is as follows: 2 rounds on 14 boards over three age categories (7-8 year old, 9-10 year old and 11-13 year old players), with a minimum of two girls per team. Younger players can compete in higher age group. The time control is 15 min + 2 sec increment. Players must be logged to Zoom and have their cameras on. The match will probably take about one hour and 30 minutes. Hopefully, many of our students will be able to spectate. I will send a Zoom login soon. This is our team for the first match:

I have created a special page about some of the best players associated with our chess school – those who attended our lessons, camps and workshops.

Ireland is a beautiful country and since our students come from many parts of it, I’ve prepared a few links of interest for our American chess friends:
